Let's Recap

I kicked off the start of the New Year 2013 with my new niece Riley Rose!! She's the happiest little munchkin - I couldn't get enough of her.  Lila & Alexis love being big sisters and "helping" Mommy every chance they get.  I can't believe how big they are - and seeing them with Riley makes you realize just how fast time flies!!
For Elizabeth's birthday the girls made her a kitchen apron - sooo cute.

Of course there was the Birthday dinner and celebration - Yummy Birthday cake and lots of singing.
Me and Daddy
Daddy & I hooked up on the train on our way in to the Met to meet Jim & Ling. I had such a great day.  We stopped in for a bite to eat in the cutest little cafe - of course I had to have a bagel and cream cheese.
I took a picture inside cause I really liked it...had great ambiance.
Aahhh The Met

I love the Metropolitan Museum of Art.  There's always something new and cool to see - and you just never get tired of going.  Well, I don't!!!

Ling & Jim waiting patiently --- there's just sooo much to see...
Central Park in the background.
I'm determined to run thru Central Park one day!! I've walked thru it but never went for a run.  It's up high on my bucket list - along with the NYC Marathon.  Probably the only other marathon I'd run.  Speaking of which, I'm going to register in April.  I'll be in the lottery along with thousands of others, so my chances aren't great - but no worse than anyone else in the lottery.  The way I see it, if my number is chosen it's meant to be - and then I'll freak out and wonder what the hell I was thinkin'. But how cool would it be!!!???!?!

Completely sealed in this case, he continuously "sweats" saline. There is no explaination for the phenomenom

Some of the sights.  The carved archways were incredible. The dancing statues just made me laugh and think of my friends Lesley.  LOL!!

After we worked up an appetite Jim and Ling treated us to dinner.  Perfectly seared Tuna ! Dinner was delish !! Thank you :)

Back at Elizabeth's, it was time for a shopping day..  Some really cool sneaks at Old Navy for the girls.  Wish they had them in my size! Sooo FUN!
Lila's coolness

Too cool for her own good - sportin' her new sneaks from Auntie Chrissie

Next it was MY birthday at Titi's house!!! A beautiful fruit & pastry creme tart with a giant Chocolate happy birthday on it!! yeah, we polished that off in no time.  Fresh raspberries make wonderful finger adornments don't ya think??

showing off the guns!!
Max is looking totally buff these days.  He towers over me now and looks great!!!
Alexis and Riley

My 5 day visit went by too quickly as usual, but I had a wonderful time with everyone & can't wait for the next one.

My week in New York - oops never posted this

I'm having a great time at Elizabeth's.  The girls are getting so big!!! We painted pictures - and kinda made a big mess - but who cares?  We had a blast.  Thursday morning I was up with the birds and the girls.  The first thing we did was bake.  I helped them bake banana muffins.  They mashed the bananas and mixed the wet & dry with just a bit of assistance.   Then came the hard part,,,,,,waiting for them to bake!!  Oh my goodness. Every few minutes they asked if they were done or if we could see how they were cooking.

Later in the afternoon we went to Lisa's for dinner & the girls jumped in her pool for a swim.  While weeding elizabeth's garden a bit I uncovered 3 huge zucchinis!!!! I mean the size of bowling pins!  Those were marinated along with home grown eggplant &chicken cutlets and all grilled.  Delish. More later.

In between my Olympics obsession

The past couple weeks have been crazy. I made sundresses for Lila & Alexis - my first real sewing venture using a pattern!! I did Lila's first and it took MUCH longer than Lexi's! Obviously a learning curve. I love how they turned out - but they needed matching scrunchies of course. I got them done in 2 nites and in the mail in time for Elizabeth to pack them for their trip to the Outer banks. I hope they fit them. They're growing up too fast!!
I booked a flight up to NY for aug 22 thru 28. I'm really looking forward to it. I want to meet my new boy cuz Joseph. He's just adorable. It'll be nice to have a few days to see everyone.
I finally started doing my running quilt too. I guess doing the girls' dresses gave me some confidence and inspired me to get going on it. Today I bought my batting but still need to find material for the back. I'm really into that almost instant gratification I get from completing a project so quickly - or at least seeing some good progress.
Well now I have to get back to my Olympics - and hopefully see Gabby grab a Gold on the unevens!!

I figured it out!!

I can't believe it. I had to use a blogger app to blog from my iPad. Now I can post photos from my library or take a pic with my iPad and post. Maybe now I'll blog more often since I love playing on my iPad !! I have lots to catch up on, however the girls gymnastics is on now. Gotta go!!

I'm clearly iPad illiterate

This morning I thought I'd try to post from my iPad, but I'm not having a very good time. It took me forever to pull it up at all, then I had to go to blogger.com to post. Really weird. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. I can't post photos from iPhoto either. There's obviously a different way to do that too!!!! UGH! I'm hellbent on figuring it out on my own. I don't know why though,,,,,typing on this thing isn't the easiest especially considering my typing skills could use some brushing up. Well, I'll have to work on this later. It's starting to irritate me and I have to go to the gym and train. Rock N Roll Half ,,,, November 3!! Woohoo!
